St John's Fish Bar turned to Tinderhouse during the Covid-19 pandemic to help rapidly launch Click-and-Collect and Home Delivery services for two of their fast food outlets. With just weeks to go live, they needed an e-commerce solution that could be deployed quickly, integrated with their existing operations, and managed easily by their staff—all without the high commissions charged by third-party delivery platforms.

The Challenge

As the Covid-19 pandemic forced restaurants to adapt quickly, St John's Fish Bar faced several urgent requirements:

Our Solution

Not satisfied with having to rely on services like Deliveroo or Uber Eats, St John's Fish Bar wanted to launch their own website to take click-and-collect orders as well as local home delivery orders. One of the most innovative aspects of this Shopify integration project was connecting Shopify's ordering platform directly to the kitchen printer system. We implemented Star Cloudprnt technology connected to Star TSP654II wireless printers, creating a fully automated workflow:

  1. Customer completes payment on the website
  2. Order is instantly sent to Shopify's order system
  3. Order ticket prints automatically in the kitchen within seconds
  4. Staff can start preparing immediately—no monitoring required

This automation means staff never miss an order and can focus entirely on food preparation rather than checking screens or manually entering orders.
